Trying to figure this out...

OK, I should try this again. I'm a professional guy in the tech industry. I work hard, long hours but also like to play when I do get the opportunity.

I love great rich extravagant food, wine, travel, and enjoy relating to other cultures. I also like organic, healthy farm raised stuff. You might find me at the local farmers market or Whole foods. I'm very picky about brands, especially for kitchen products. I do cook a bit, but not so great at the clean-up part.

I have had the opportunity to travel internationally a bit these past few years. It is one of the true pleasures in my life.

An intense and passionate guy here, but driven by logic and pragmatism more than feeling. I'm an extroverted introvert, for lack of a better term... I am a big communicator and like talking and debating with others, but I'm not a big social guy in the traditional sense of the word. I do a pretty good job at faking it from time to time though :)

I'm a very ambitious, self-motivated type. I can bite off more than I can chew... I'm a polymath who really cares about many things. I love sharing knowledge. Sometimes I can seem a little argumentative... but really, I probably just feel like I know you enough to want to challenge you, or have a friendly verbal sparring with you.

I'm all about spending quality time with people. If I set a firm date, I'm going to keep it unless all hell breaks loose. And when I'm with people, I like to talk, do real things, live life and have fun.

Here's what tends to be important to me when looking for a guy:

- Intelligence. It's not just measured on IQ. There's artistic and creative genius. There's musical talent. There's emotional intelligence. The list goes on. I love it all.

- Communication. Talk to me. Or at least send me an email or text message that says something real. Stuff happens between people, let's be sure we can figure it out. I care what you're thinking and feeling, but I can't read minds.

- Time. Let's make sure there's enough to connect.

- Travel / Location. I live in a bit in the country. I'm not in the middle of nowhere, and I'm happy to travel often... but you need to be comfortable with this and have access to a vehicle; there's no bus service at my house, and Vancouver has terrible bus service overall.

Quality takes time... but if there's click and both people are interested and committed, things will go where they need to go. I'm ready to spend the time to find something with real meaning... and the journey should be almost as good as the destination!

Quiet at first and not very out going. After I get to know someone though I tend to open up like flood gates, and spend a majority of the time trying to make others laugh and feel good. Lots of my time is spent dealing with various hobbies and looking through the vast internet for new topics and things to ponder over. I love to go out and ride Dirt Bikes whenever I can. Which lately has not been very often because I had to sell my bike after it broke down on me cause it would have cost me more to fix that it was worth. One day I shall own another though!

Whenever I can I have ink pens stuck in my right hand. I am still into comics, but in a different way that when I was a kid. Now I love to draw and ink them. I cols spend hours a day over a picture bringing it to life with black ink. I have loved it so much that I have even thought about getting into Tattooing as it is close in style.

There is far too much going on with me to encapsulate in this summary, but I'll sprinkle some things in. I'm a little bit shy on the outside, and compassionate and fiery on the inside. It's like surprise candy! I sometimes make decisions as though I'm going to be hit by a bus and miss out on something. But despite that, I'm an observant and careful person. I plan, and think about planning, and plan some more. But I also like being spontaneous, and I can easily go with the flow.

I have a fizzy personality, and I sometimes shock myself with things I say out loud. But generally I'm quite composed, calmly observing everything and making mental notes on life's quirks.

I grew up in Alaska. I played outdoors, did artistic things, and spent many an afternoon in the library devouring a book, movie, or obsessively playing Oregon Trail. At that time one of my greatest accomplishments was winning the 7th grade science fair for my work with vitamins and the streptococcus I somehow cultured from the air in the bathroom.

I love science, and I would have taken more of it in college if I wasn't bent on figuring out how human civilization has come to exist in its present configuration. Consequently I earned a degree in History. I thought about being a high school teacher but the iron grip of administration ultimately didn't appeal to me, so I finished a degree in Japanese and picked up another one in Geography. I'm very interested in travel, although I haven't done as much of it as I would like.

I have been studying Japanese in varying degrees of intensity for about 9 years now. I studied abroad in Tokyo about 5 years ago and loved the experience. I'm not an Otaku, but I do like to watch anime occasionally if it's a good series.

I love to watch movies, especially if they are meaningful or have a profoundly creative message. But I also like to watch Hollywood fluff. Snuggling with someone special makes movies infinitely better :) I also like to read books, although I must admit that I am probably not as well read as I should be. I am very picky about the books I choose to read. I also like to play games; lately I've been playing WoW. It's a nice way to stay connected with my friends still living in Teeny Tiny College Town.

I'm kind of a goofy person and I can appreciate many kinds of humor, both black and strange. My creative side comes and goes it seems; I have an odd relationship with fiction writing. I also enjoy video taping things and editing the results. I love to sing but am a shy creature. The last thing I chose to sing at karaoke was Blame Canada. People sometimes have a hard time getting me to talk, but when I do I usually have something to say that was entirely unexpected. It may pop and crackle in your brain.

I have a tough exterior apparently but I'm really a softy inside. I am a hopeless romantic. I like to cuddle (and all that other stuff ^.^) and discover the extraordinary things in life.

I'm starting over after a long marriage. I am working on myself and taking it a day at a time. Working on my weight, trying to get stronger. It might take a while for me to really trust again. I am not going to rush myself, and I need whoever I might come in contact with, to understand that.

I would define myself as very relaxed and open minded with a varied collection of interests. Not the best at small talk, but I can talk for hours on deep conversations about the world, politics, science, the future, and almost anything else. I get excited about understanding another person and why and how they became who they are. To never judge, and simply celebrate in the diversity of our life experiences.

I am an avid movie watcher, will almost watch anything once, it has to be really bad for me to not enjoy it and then sometimes the really bad ones can be just as fun. Enjoy watching TV shows (not crap reality programing), I prefer a good comedic sitcom, and almost anything from the BBC (Dr Who is awesome!). Also love playing both board and video games. Cribbage is probably my favorite card game, and I am huge fan of all Mario games.

There is also those activities that incorporate the huge fire ball in the sky. I am up for hike anytime, or maybe just strolling through a local park. When the weather is right, I like to take my kayak out on the water. Have done some geocaching and would like to do more. There is nothing better than just hanging out at the beach with some one special, relaxing and listening to the waves come in, walking the streets and checking out the shops, and of course picking up some salt water taffy.

I'm looking for a friend first. Someone who gets me, and who openly communicates. I prefer a women that isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. Without question the most important thing to me is personality, a girl who does not get caught up in the humdrum of life and keeps an open mind and smiles even through the tough times.

I am also a father of terrific kids, and would want some one that will enjoy spending some time with them. However, I am looking for a partner and friend, not a mother to my children, they already have one. There is so much in life to experience and it is simply better with some one special to experience it with.

I AM NO LONGER MARRIED

This is the hard part, talking about yourself and trying to put in just a few short sentences a lifetime of fun, love and happiness. Certaintly not every moment of my journey has been filled with above mentioned. There are always bumps in the road but I never gave up driving!
I will turn 60 this December. I have had so many experiences and am so thankful I continued to grow through out my life. A very dear friend and I were recently sharing thoughts about our journey through life and he said "my dear we turn 60 this year, we're on third base headed home why do we want to stop now."
I love all types of music (Rap is not music lol) I love being outdoors and nude beaches. Love Salmon fishing and boating. Just discovered snorkeling in Cancun this summer(a new passion.) Love ball room dancing and really love the latin dances..........

Often when people spend time around me, they find that two things can happen: 1. their ribs will hurt from laughing too much; and 2. their souls will just be a little bit richer. I find life to be full of adventure and want to experience as much as I can. People are my canvas - a collage of characters that parade around me. My adulthood began during some of our most recent tumultous years and has shaped my perception of right and wrong. Currently, I spend my working hours weeding out greed and avarice which abounds in our world today. Later, the playful side emerges full of characters who explore sides of the human condition. Just ask the "Cabana Boy" for a towel if he isn't too busy, and then there is "Dwayne" - the bureaucrats nightmare! We can't forget Dr. Scion, the "Come to Jesus Meeting" counselor, for those that have gone to the dark side. He is sort of a cross between Hunter S. Thompson and Harry S. Truman on steroids. I don't let him out much because people find him a bit obtuse but effective like a mental excorcism.

Nature is my religion. There are so many lessons to be learn from observation like the hermit crab that gets caught in a hole at the tide's edge only to continue carving more rock as he tumbles around after a wave crosses over - doomed to a life of turmoil. We have all seen these people. Or, Moto, my favorite squirrel who became a constant companion. His favorite food was dried apricots which he would take from my hand. It took patience to earn his trust. Every day nature will provide me with a lesson of some sorts and of course shared with friends.

I'm bad at these but here goes:
I'm 6'3", with a medium frame and am about 220lbs.
I wear glasses that partly hide my blue eyes and sometimes try to keep my brown hair shorter.
See, I told you I suck at these.
I'm addicted to video games and movies. They play a big role in my life.
I am normally a night owl yet I tend to pass out at random times as well when I get off sync.

I'm also a huge fan of music. Even when I'm sleeping sometimes I'll leave a play list running on my computer.

I learn more and more about me as a person when I can hang out with family. The perfect times spent for me are people watching with someone who likes to see the movie unfold in front of us. I like animals pets but dont have any. I seem to start hobbies but need people to go do those hobbies with. For instance I started Scuba and now I need someone to dive with. Im a nature fanatic. I like taking off for the mountains and going on hikes or explore new areas. Snowboarding has been a favorite of mine and again need to find a group to go with. I like getting out as well as movie night at the Laruelhurst or Kennedy School.

I try to stay in shape by going to the gym and eating as healthy as I can on the run. I love carrot juice. I also like to mountainbike forestpark when it is nice in the summer. It is especially fun to go downhill from the top.

I am thankful for alot of things. My home, my job and my family. I just have found it difficult for whatever reason to find a new circle of friends that can actually hang out. I am really old school. I don't have a phone that has a text keyboard. But I do like talking on the phone.

I like micro brews and drink on the occasion. I like darts and air hockey. I like walking around the Pearl and downtown. Always looking or keeping my ear open for a cool restaraunt.

I would to meet someone who is stable in their life and know what they want out of friendships, relationships and life. Ive been told Im too picky but I beg to disagree. Most of the people I know are happily married.

Im spirtual but not practicing so much. I live by the golden rule. I dont judge others for their belifs and believe we all can share different life views. Im really open minded.

My friend Chris and I go out for drinks about once a week. It's usually at some dive where the waitress has a tattoo of something ridiculous like a blue whale or an orca across the majority of her chest; where really old punks go to be forgotten; where really young punks talk about really old punks and what it really means to be "punk in a post-punk society." Chris and I aren't punk. We just enjoy the atmosphere.

On one of these occasions, we discussed our relationships with people--ex's, family, friends, the weirdo that talks to you on the bus about how they should make signs that point to Jesus. I told Chris that 10% of the time, I want a really good, intellectually stimulating, non-pretentious, funny, possibly self-depricating conversation. The other 90% of the time, I just want them to shut up so I can watch the game. He laughed and said, "You're such a dude."

And there it is. I am a well balanced walking gender anamoly. I drink beer and whiskey, smoke cigarettes, take my coffee black, love football, baseball, and rugby (in that order,) can scrap if I need to, and can utter a list slurs, swears, and smuts that would shame Andrew Dice Clay.

I can also sew, knit, sing along with just about every Christina Aguilera song that comes on the radio, wax fashion philosphica, match your shoes to your outfit, pick out a gifts, and cook a wholesome, if not entirely southern, meal from scratch.

I consider myself high maintenance, mostly because i'm afraid of everything and i need someone who can make me do things and get over being afraid of them. It's been a while since I last decided to come on here. And I'm not one who really likes to write about myself. It's hard to think about what other people want to know about you. So I'll give you the basics and if you want to know anything further than this, do message me here.

I was born in 1976 in Honolulu, Hawaii. I'm currently living in Vancouver, Washington working in a Warehouse and playing music. I have a child and I do love her more than life itself. As far as my music goes, I'm a drummer presently in a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.

I'm not a baller, shot-caller, player, or anything of the sort. I'm not the jealous, possessive, controlling, abusive type either. I don't play games and I'm a faithful person. I do smoke cigarettes. I do enjoy drinking coffee. I'll have a drink after work or after playing a show but I refuse to get drunk.

In short, I am a man that you can either take as I am or leave me alone. I am not perfect. Nobody is. But if I can meet one woman that I connect with, and she takes me as I am and nothing more, I can guarantee that she will be very happy with me for many years to come. I also have my desires with regards to women, however, that can be addressed should any lady like to send me a message.

I am a man of many passions, shy, yet funny when you get to know me. I love to make people laugh, I love laughing myself and enjoying life each and every day. I love hanging out with friends, making new friends, listening to music, going to shows, and most of all, I love playing the guitar. I am a life-long, self-admitted geek. If I've ever done anything "cool" it was entirely by accident. As such, my favorite pastimes involve reading fantasy novels, watching anime and playing video games, and I've been doing all of them for a very long time. Although, as a small counter-balance to my geekdom, I am a huge hockey fan and like to play paintball once in a while. So, I do have some "socially acceptable" interests.

I don't really care much for alcohol, but I don't mind having an occasional beer. I do smoke, but you never know what tomorrow will bring. I could wake up some day and no longer want to smoke anymore.

I'm a little on the odd side. I studied theater and music in High School, play way to many video games, draw, listen to music, and occasionally get off my ass and write. First off, I hate writing these. I enjoy writing other things, though, just as long as they aren't about me. I'm a very creative person and a billion and one crafty hobbies. I'm a homebody in the sense that I would rather spend an evening reading than out at a bar or club. I love traveling, though, and have been to Italy, Scotland, and Japan. I'm a bit quiet and shy on meeting new people but I loosen up pretty quickly. I'm a native New Yawker and only recently transplanted to Oregon. You people drive too slow. :)

I'm a pretty diverse person. I am very intense and passionate when I'm in artist mode. Very analytical and philosophical when I'm in study or reading mode. And very focused, and . . arg . . . vain, when in lifting mode. My life is about being well rounded and balanced, and I feel it any time one of the three starts to overshadow the others. My friends and family would probably tell you that I'm talented, funny, opinionated, optimistic, and a big goof! God and my kids are pretty tied for first place in my life, friends and family are not a far third, and any one of them would tell you I'd do anything for them. I also have a tendency to stretch myself way too far! lol
