Good food, quite cheap

We just picked the buffet (which was what most folks were chosing). It was only $10 and you get 4-5 vegetarian dishes, 2 chicken dishes and 2 beef dishes along with injeras. Everything was in 2 flavors: spicy & non-spicy. The lentils, spinach and cabbage dishes were good, the chicken dish (one serving of the buffet) was good and the other serving was okay. The restaurant is in remote place (it's actually on Williams St, not on Vancouver Ave (as put in the address). Still hard to find. The service can be slow if the places gets crowded (at one moment, the entire buffet had half the buffet not filled). The waiters seem down-to-earth. Since it's in a remote place, you can find a lot of street parking.

Pros: Good food buffet, quite cheap

Cons: Hard to find (it's on Williams street, next to Vancouver Ave

The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly. Several vegan choices and the small vegan combo is only $7- plenty of food for one person so it's a great value. Ambiance isn't great and the wait can be a tad long but I love the food and staff so I forget about all of that once I get my food. The other night I went in and they had an all you can eat buffet which was awesome- instant gratification with 5 vegan choices! I hope they make it a regular thing. Update 1/6/10- the all you can eat buffet is now a regular thing at Dalo's. It's just $10 and a great way to introduce someone to Ethiopian food or to get instant dinner.

Pros: wonderful staff, yummy food, inexpensive

Cons: ambiance/lighting

Went on Saturday evening at 7pm. The place was about half full. We all ordered tibbs dishes and ordered an appetizer. Received drinks fairly promptly but after 45 minutes no appetizer, and all the people that were there when we arrived still had no food on their tables so we started getting worried. After about an hour one table near us got some food. Finally we got our food I think around the 80 minute mark. The food was good but not great. Definitely not worth the wait. Not coming back.

Pros: Food was decent, not great

Cons: Very slow to get our meal (bring a novel to read)
